AshleySince becoming a dental assistant in 2003, Ashley has come to realize that being a dental assistant is the sort of exciting field she’d hoped to be part of. As a dental assistant, she likes nothing more than to than to help her patients and put smiles on their faces.

Ashley finds it helpful to inform hesitant patients that dentistry has come a long way in terms of technology and pain management, and she will do everything possible to make each patient’s visit a pleasant one. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking through the great trails that are available around the Willamette Valley.

Melissa Rix, Patient Care Coordinator

Melissa has worked in dentistry for more than ten years and remains fascinated by the work she does. Her continued interest in the dental field is fueled by the constant innovation and changes that keep her job challenging and rewarding.

Informing patients of the strong link between oral health and overall physical health is something Melissa feels is important because people are then less likely to neglect their teeth. In her extra time, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband, son, daughter, and two dogs, at home or at the beach.

Katie Thompson, Hygienist

KatieDentist visits have always been positive experiences for Katie. Consequently, she decided that the dental field would be a great career to help others have positive experiences, too. Contributing to Katie’s appreciation for dentistry is her love for the staff and patients she sees every day at work.

Katie feels all patients should realize how important preventive dental care is because it can save teeth and avoid troubles from systemic health issues such as heart disease, diabetes, low birth weight in babies and much more. When she’s not working, Katie loves to spend time with her young son Jack.
