Cosmetic Dentistry
With the latest technologies available, improving your smile has become faster and more affordable. Our cosmetic treatments can improve or correct bites, whiten teeth, change size or shape of teeth, and fill in unattractive gaps between teeth. We offer a variety of options so that you can decide which cosmetic dental treatments are right for you.
Teeth Whitening and Bleaching
Teeth whitening and bleaching have become a widely used and popular way to whiten smiles. Many people achieve the look they’ve been dreaming of with the simple bleaching procedure provided by Harmony Dental. Teeth whitening is an inexpensive and safe procedure. Depending on your preference, you can lighten only your upper teeth or both the upper and lower.
At Harmony Dental, we use the “Boost” in-office teeth-whitening system to give you a whiter, brighter smile. “Boost” by Ultradent will help you achieve the white smile you want in just over an hour. This professional tooth-whitening system produces stunning results using a professional-grade, powerful gel along with a bleaching light. Included with the procedure are a set of custom bleach trays so that you can continue to bleach your teeth at home.
Once your teeth reach your preferred brightness, only occasional treatments are needed to maintain your new smile.
Tooth Bonding
Bonding is a simple and conservative way to change your smile. Bonding can be used to close gaps, correct crooked teeth, and whiten discolored teeth.
A tooth is prepared for bonding through light etching on its surface, and then a tooth-colored plastic material is placed on the surfaces of your teeth. The tooth is bonded, sculpted, colored and shaped to improve your smile. Once cured with a high-intensity curing light, the surface is polished.
Tooth bonding is convenient, often completed in one visit, and can significantly improve the appearance of a tooth. Bonding typically lasts three to five years or even longer before need of repair.
Dental Veneers
Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic that bond directly to the front surfaces of the teeth.
These thin pieces are bonded to the front of your teeth, and are generally used to improve the overall look of your teeth, especially if they are uneven, chipped, stained or crooked.
Ultra-thin porcelain veneers are virtually undetectable and highly resistant to stains from substances like coffee, tea, or tobacco.
Veneers can be completed in about three dental visits, involving a consultation with Dr. da Costa as well as an impression of your teeth to send to the lab where your veneers will be made.
The veneers will then be place and bonded to your teeth during the third visit. Dr. da Costa will ensure that your veneers are crafted from the highest quality porcelains and are bonded with the most advanced and proven materials available.
Veneers require the same type and amount of care as regular teeth. Brushing twice daily and flossing once a day, along with regularly scheduled trips to your dentist, will ensure a bright, healthy smile for years to come.
