New Patients: What Can You Expect On Your First Visit?
So, you’ve made your first appointment with our office. We know that visiting a new dentist’s office can be an anxious experience. Let us help make your first visit with us more comfortable by taking you through some of the things you can expect to experience.
First, we hope you will take advantage of the online tools we have provided on our New Patients page. You can download our new patient forms and fill them out even before your first visit. You can complete these in the comfort of your home at a time convenient for you. Just bring them with you to your appointment and we’ll do the rest.
Next, please take a tour of our office so you will feel like you are in familiar territory when you actually visit us. We have a comfortable and open waiting room and kids playroom to keep your little ones busy.
Kathy or Andrea will walk you through your first exam and patiently answer all of your questions. Then, you and Dr. da Costa can map out a treatment plan together that fits your schedule and budget. He loves to answers patient’s questions so please don’t hold back!

Your Comfort Comes First!
The one thing that all of our patients mention is how attentive our doctor and team are to their level of comfort throughout their visit. That is not accidental! We have seriously considered what we could do to make our patient’s visits easier, shorter, and more comfortable. Here are a few of the comforting amenities we provide that we hope you will take advantage of during your visit:
Sedation Dentistry – This is a wonderful option for those who experience more than the usual nervousness about a dental visit. Please share any of these anxious feelings with our team and we will be happy to discuss sedation options that will make your visits more comfortable for you.
Headphones – Listen to your favorite relaxing music. This is especially helpful for those who don’t like the sounds of dental instruments.
Overhead TV – The time in the dentist chair will pass quickly and pleasantly while watching your favorite TV shows with our ceiling-mounted televisions.
Aromatherapy – Sometimes people have a negative reaction to the usual medical smells of a dentist office. This soothing therapy removes that negative influence and instead produces feelings of well-being and relaxation.
Blankets and Pillows – Making sure you feel totally comfortable and secure is always our team’s 1st priority.
