Give Thanks by Donating Food
Here at Harmony Dental we care about your smile. We also care about our community and helping those in need, which brings us a smile. This fall – holiday season we are registered with the Oregon Food Bank to help feed those in need.
You can help local families who don’t have enough to eat by dropping off food at our in office donation center. All food will be delivered in time for Thanksgiving, so local families can enjoy warm meals.
When you come to see us for your next appointment bring a canned food or dry box of food and you can make a powerful difference for those in need. But you don’t have to have an appointment in order to bring food in, simply stop by and drop your food off.
All patients and non-patients are welcome to donate at our center. After all the more we can give, the more we can help.
We gladly accept these foods
• Dry and canned soups
• Stuffing mixes
• Canned pumpkin
• Cranberry sauce
• Canned meats
• Canned vegetables
• Powdered or flaked potatoes.
Our food drive is registered on the Oregon Food Bank web site as well.
Teaming up with the Oregon Food bank is important to us. Your smile can only be bright when you have enough to eat.
Local Families are worried about their next meal.
Facts:
• 84% of respondents, in an Oregon Food Bank study, reported that they experienced not having enough money to feed their family, compared to 69% in 2008.
• 36% of households with children report cutting or reducing the size of a child’s meals (compared to 30% in 2010).
• 77% of households say they worry at least sometimes about how they will get their next meal (compared to 66% in 2010).
• 270,000 people per month eat meals from emergency food boxes. That’s half of Portland’s population.
• Of those, 92,000 are children. Since the beginning of the Great Recession in 2008, emergency food box distribution has increased 41 percent.
Let’s get together and eliminate hunger and its root causes … because no one should be hungry.
